Methodology

Tooltip text

Data fusion with stratified sampling techniques. Strata based on the Survey of Household Spending from Statistics Canada, surveys conducted by Agriculture Canada, Egg Farmers of Canada, and Health Canada are linked to strata derived from demographic information at the postal code geographic level. Thereafter, expenditure patterns are modeled from survey data to the general population. Structural coherence played an essential role in selecting geographic level and in the integration process. We have applied techniques from statistics, dynamics, data mining and other disciplines including multi-staged and adaptive nonlinear methods for dimension reduction, effective statistical distance function, and coherent structural approximations.

Data sources include Statistics Canada, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Health Canada, Canada Post Corporation, publications from credit bureaus and Manifold proprietary research and databases.

Validation and refinement is done via independent data sources.
